Wood wedding bands with a past
A bourbon barrel is used once. American law requires bourbon to be aged in charred new oak, so after four, eight, twelve years of work a barrel can never hold bourbon again. Most travel on to age Scotch, rum or beer; some are broken down for the staves. That is the wood in these rings — not a wood-look finish, not a printed layer, but oak that spent years soaking up spirit in the dark.
Because the wood is real, every ring is different. Grain runs where the tree grew it. The colour comes partly from the char inside the barrel and partly from the whiskey itself, which is why the tones range from honey to near-black. Two rings cut from the same stave will not match, and that is the point.
Each band is built on a core of tungsten carbide or Damascus steel, so the ring keeps its shape and finish while the wood stays protected. All are 8 mm, comfort fit, in sizes 7 to 13.
Living with a wood ring
The wood is stabilised and sealed before it ever reaches a ring, so everyday moisture is not a problem — washing your hands will not hurt it. What wood does not like is prolonged soaking and heat, so take it off before long swims, hot tubs and saunas. A drop of mineral oil once or twice a year keeps the grain rich.
Why Choose Whiskey Barrel Rings?
Whiskey barrel rings feature authentic reclaimed oak once used to age whiskey, giving each ring natural grain patterns and rich, warm tones. No two pieces are ever identical. Combined with durable metal like tungsten or steel, they blend heritage craftsmanship with modern strength.
Absolutely. Whiskey barrel rings symbolize tradition, character, and commitment. The natural wood represents warmth and story, while the strong metal core ensures durability for everyday wear — making them a meaningful and long-lasting wedding band choice.
